Location

Lacona is located in the southern region of the Island of Elba, in the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago and a stone's throw from the white-sand beaches and crystal clear water of the Gulf of Lacona.

Segagnana Road

Nestled in Mediterranean scrub, this hiking trail leads guests (in just a few minutes) to evocative and isolated places, such as the top of Capo Fonsa and Monte Tambone, where you'll run into goat farms and old farmers' crafts.

Church of the Madonna della Neve

Just two kilometers from the hotel, resting upon a mountain rising above the shoulders of the bay, a quiet stroll amidst vineyards and olive groves will lead you to the Church of the Madonna della Neve. The remaining walls of this church, rebuilt in the 16th century, feature and old religious item that dates back to the Roman era.

Monte Santa Lucia

From the top of this mountain, a charming small church rises above the Gulf of Portoferraio. Just past it, turning onto Strada di Colle Reciso, visitors can easily reach the destinations of many pilgrimages and observe what remains of the Luceri Fortress, a defense bulwark built to block pirate incursions.

Directions to the Island of Elba

• To reach the Island of Elba, take the ferry that leaves from the Port of Piombino (Livorno).
• • Coming from the North. Travel to the Port of Piombino by taking Autostrada A12 to Rosignano and then take the SGC route towards Rome to the Venturina exit. From here, follow signs to Porto di Piombino.
• • Coming from the South. Take Autostrada A12 Roma-Civitavecchia, merge into the SGC route to Livorno and continue to the Venturina exit. From here, follow signs to Porto di Piombino.
• • From Piombino take the ferry to the Island of Elba that docks at Portoferraio (or Porto Azzurro or Cavo). The ferry ride takes approximately 60 minutes and reservations are encouraged.

Directions to Hotel Lacona

• • By Car
  Once you arrive by ferry to Portoferraio, follow signs to "Tutte le direzioni." Continue towards Porto Azzurro and after approximately 1 kilometer, make a right turn at the traffic light in direction of Lacona. Once you arrive in Lacona, follow directions to Marina di Campo. Hotel Lacona awaits you on the right-hand side of the main road.

  After arriving at the airport of Marina di Campo, drive down Via dell'Aeroporto and make a left onto SP25. Go past the La Pila area and take the second exit. Continue along SP30 for approximately 8 kilometers until you reach Lacona e then follow directions listed under "By Car."
