Climate Island of Elba, Elba Island Weather, winds and average temperatures on the Tuscan archipelago...
The Island of Elba offers throughout the year pleasant and mild temperatures, even in winter. Thanks to the Mediterranean climate the rainy days are few and rare in summer.
The most frequent winds are Sirocco that blows from South-East and the refreshing Mistral from North-West. The most insidious winds, especially for those who prefer hiking in the sea, are Libeccio (South-West) and Westerly (West), which rarely blow along the coasts but they cause dangerous waves.
Less frequent and typical of the winter days are the chilly winds of Tramontana (North) and Grecale (Norht-East), which offer cold days with blue sky.
Maritime connections are seldom interrupted because of the bad weather. It can happen that the hydrofoil is stopped, while normal ferry boats continue their journeys.
